Social media and communications
What is it?
Communicating with users is very important, not just to advise them of new features, service alerts etc, but also shows that the service provider is still active (some IT services have short lifespans).
Enabling social media also provides an easy way to communicate between you and the end user.
Another method of communication can be via e-newsletters. Cloud apps such as Mailchimp provide a free account to manage your contacts and online newsletters (e-newsletters).
Social Links provides an overview of social link placement.
Examples
Users can “tweet” you a short message advising your service is offline – something that a user would not ordinarily be able to do, because your contact details are offline.
Or send a monthly newsletter to your customers keeping them updated with your software releases or activities.
