It is with gratitude and regret that I announce Sam Moskwa’s departure as Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) of the Australian eResearch Organisations (AeRO), effective November
5th 2020. Since 2017, Sam has played a key role in the development of AeRO. Sam’s three
years of service have involved many accomplishments, particularly in the development and
expansion of national eResearch events, including eResearch Australasia and
its essential transition to a successful virtual model during the global pandemic.
We look forward to following Sam’s future career successes and are hopeful and excited for the
next chapter of AeRO, as we continue to advocate for researchers, provide access to skilled
support and tailored technology solutions for our members and partners. We will continue to
strive to reach our vision of all Australasian researchers being able to access coordinated and
collaborative digital tools, technologies and skills. In this regard a new vision, mission
statement and core values will be published shortly. I also aim to soon announce the
commencement of our interim CEO in the next few weeks.
Dr Jenni Harrison
Chair of the AeRO Executive Committee
